Nissan Tekton To Return As A Successor To The Nissan Terrano, Here’s What To Expect

The Nissan Tekton will likely be the first-ever Nissan SUV in India to come with ADAS
India’s Compact SUV space, one of the most fierce SUV segments in the country, is about to get even more crowded! We have already seen the arrival of the new Renault Duster, and now, a Japanese automaker is set to mark its re-entry into this space. Marking Nissan’s comeback will be the new Nissan Tekton which will be a successor to the Nissan Terrano. Here's everything you need to know about the upcoming Nissan SUV.
Nissan Tekton Design

Calling the Nissan Tekton a baby Patrol wouldn’t be wrong, thanks to its bold front end. It gets an imposing grille and C-shaped LED headlights with connected DRLs, along with chunky silver skid plate. The ‘TEKTON’ badge has also been inscribed on the hood just above the grille for the added appeal. It appears to have the same SUV silhouette as seen on the Renault Duster, and design elements like chunky wheel arches and roof rails adds to overall sportiness.

As seen on the Nissan Patrol, the rear quarter glass panel on the Tekton also gets a tapered effect. At the rear, the Tekton boasts connected LED tail lights and a silver skid plate completes the overall look of the SUV.
Nissan Tekton Interior

The complete interior hasn’t been revealed yet, but short teaser videos reveal some elements of the cabin. The Tekton gets a multi-layered dashboard pattern along with gloss black trim and copper highlights.
Nissan Tekton Expected Features
Notably, the Tekton is expected to share most of its features with the Duster, including a 10.1-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch fully digital driver’s display, panoramic sunroof, auto AC with rear AC vents, and ventilated front seats. Passenger safety could be taken care of by 6 airbags, a 360-degree camera, and level 2 ADAS. Please note that the Tekton will likely be the first Nissan SUV in India to come with ADAS.
Nissan Tekton Powertrain Options
Tekton will share its underpinnings with the new India-spec Renault Duster, i.e., based on the RGMP (Renault Group Modular Platform). It is also likely to share its powertrain options with the Duster, including a 1-litre turbo-petrol (100 PS/166 Nm) with a 6-speed manual transmission and a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol (163 PS/280 Nm) available with both 6-speed MT and a 6-speed DCT. It could also be offered with a 1.8-litre petrol-hybrid engine in near future.
Nissan Tekton Expected Launch
The Nissan Tekton is expected to be launched soon in 2026 and could be priced from Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom pan-India). The Tekton will take on the likes of the Renault Duster, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Volkswagen Taigun, and Skoda Kushaq.
