BMW Group India Posts Record H1 2025 Sales Amid Strong EV and LWB Demand

Continuing its upward trajectory, BMW Group India has reported its highest-ever half-yearly car deliveries for the first six months of 2025. The company sold a total of 7,774 BMW and MINI vehicles, in addition to 2,569 motorcycles between January and June 2025.
The BMW brand contributed 7,477 units, while MINI accounted for 297 units. Each month of the second quarter recorded best-ever sales figures, solidifying the brand’s momentum in a challenging market.
“We are on a fast track, posting +10% growth despite a challenging environment,” said Mr. Vikram Pawah, President and CEO, BMW Group India. “BMW Group India is steering the success story for this year with tremendous fervour.”
EV Growth Leads the Charge
Electric vehicles continued to be a major growth driver, with BMW Group India selling 1,322 EVs in H1 2025 — a 234% increase over the same period last year. EVs now contribute 18% to the group’s overall car sales. The BMW iX1 Long Wheelbase was the top-selling electric model, followed by the BMW i7.
BMW Group currently offers six electric vehicles and two electric scooters in India, backed by customer-centric initiatives such as complimentary Wallbox chargers, Destination Charging, Smart E-Routing, and a 24x7 dealership-based fast-charging network.
LWB Models Gain Ground
BMW’s long wheelbase models — including the 7 Series, 5 Series, 3 Series, and iX1 — recorded a remarkable +159% growth, now accounting for 47% of BMW’s total car sales in India. The BMW 5 Series emerged as the highest-selling sedan for the brand in H1, while the BMW 3 Series retained its top position in the Indian premium sedan category.
Luxury Segment and SAVs Perform Strongly
The BMW Luxury Class — comprising the 7 Series, i7, X7, and XM — continued to perform well. The X7, BMW’s flagship SAV, has now surpassed 5,000 units sold since launch.
BMW’s Sports Activity Vehicles (SAVs) segment recorded 17% growth in H1 2025. Their share in BMW’s overall car sales rose from 56% in Q1 to 59% in Q2. The BMW X1 remained the highest-selling SAV for BMW and led the premium compact SUV segment nationally. The BMW X5 followed as the next top performer in the SAV category.
MINI and Motorrad Updates
MINI India delivered 297 units, led by the Cooper S, which saw over 60% growth year-on-year. The new MINI Countryman E, an all-electric offering, also contributed significantly.
On the two-wheeler front, BMW Motorrad sold 2,569 units. The BMW G 310 RR led the smart-cc segment, while the BMW 900 GS / GSA and 1300 GS / GSA topped the adventure touring category. The BMW S 1000 RR remained the brand’s best-seller in the super sport segment.
Retail.NEXT and Financial Innovation
The company is also transforming its retail experience with the Retail.NEXT program, an INR 365.6 crore investment across 56 facilities in 33 cities. This initiative introduces a new design language, digital tools, and streamlined customer journeys.
On the financial front, BMW India Financial Services continues to enhance customer access through its Smart Financeprogram, offering benefits like assured buy-back, low EMIs, and end-of-term flexibility.
Conclusion
BMW Group India’s record H1 2025 numbers reflect strong demand across its electric, luxury, and SAV portfolios. Backed by retail innovation and expanded electrification, the company appears well-positioned to sustain momentum through the rest of the year.
